PT sessions are 60 minutes. Some of the more specialized services like body work or force output assessment run 30 minutes long. You can refer to the Services Provided page for more.
No. All of your sessions will be 1-on-1 with the physical therapist.
Please wear comfortable clothes that you can move in. If possible, clothing that exposes the body part we are treating is ideal as skin contact gives me the best ability to assess.
Bound Physio is inside a gym, however in a separate area from the main workouts. We have the ability to be discreet in the corner, but it is not private.
Yes! We have two bathrooms with ADA accessible showers. We also provide a wide variety of hygiene and beauty supplies, so don’t worry if you forget your shampoo.
Billing / Insurance
No! I am direct access, meaning you can come directly to PT without a referral or other script. Though, you may need one if you are going to file a claim to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
Nope! I want to do what the client needs during our session, not what is dictated by insurance. This could mean treating several body regions in one session, having a more active treatment session, taking a bit longer for a thorough session, or providing a la carte services.
Yes! We can accept credit, debit, HSA, FSA, cash or check for services.
Telehealth is the same price as in-person physical therapy and wellness services.
Services
In most cases, we should not be creating pain to treat pain. That’s very counterintuitive and is a false precedence that has been set in this profession. Treatments, including manual therapy and exercise, should be performed under the pain threshold to make you feel better. As you get farther along with treatment, you may experience some exercise induced soreness or aching, but this should only be uncomfortable, not painful.
Throughout your treatment, we are collaborating to create and update goals based on your progress, lifestyle, desires, and PT recommendations. Once we’ve reached those goals and you feel confident in managing the health of your body, you can graduate from formal PT!
Please do! Consultation calls are free and the purpose is to not only see if Bound Physio is the right fit, but also to guide you in the medical system. I’m happy to answer all sorts of questions to ensure you are receiving excellent care.
Scheduling
This is dependent on several factors, including but not limited to the specific injury, how long you’ve been injured, your body’s capacity for healing, age, comorbidities, consistency with the treatment plan, and your goals. The average number of sessions in a case is eight—typically the first 2-3 to address pain and the rest to address the underlying cause of injury. Though again, there is a lot of variation in this.
This also depends on your specific presentation and needs. However, as my ultimate goal is to get you autonomous in your management of injuries, I don’t require the typical 1-2x per week for 6-8 weeks that most clinics recommend. We can space appointments out with 2-4 weeks in between if you are confident in doing your homework.
Please use the patient portal in Healthie as much as possible. It has a chat function that operates similar to texting. If it is a last minute update, you can call, but you’ll likely be leaving a message. Email is also appropriate for longer correspondence. And of course, if it’s an emergency please call 911.
